Voided slabs are constructed biaxially through the use of box shaped disposable formworks made of recycled polypropylene (PP) that are placed between lower and upper steel reinforcement. Casting of concrete is always in-situ.
Following the slab formwork installation, the bottom reinforcement is placed, and the site is prepared for the placement of disposable formworks. Disposable formworks are placed at the intervals specified in the project and connected to the bottom reinforcement. If necessary, disposable formwork spacers can also be used between the formworks. After the disposable formworks are fixed and the upper reinforcement is placed, concrete pouring begins.
The most important thing to be considered when pouring concrete is to pour the concrete at least in two phases to ensure that the disposable formworks do not float and that the concrete is completely spread under the formworks. In the first phase of pouring, the concrete is poured at the foot height of the disposable formworks, enough to cover the edges. During the pouring, a vibrator is held between the formworks and the center cone in the middle of the disposable formworks is checked to make sure that the concrete is spread under the formworks.
When the concrete is slightly plasticized according to the class of concrete and weather conditions, the second casting is carried out. Floor leveling can follow the second cast in regular manners. A vibrator should be used at every stage of concrete casting.
